Position: Warehouse Associate
Details: Full-Time / Hourly / Dallas, Texas
Reports To: Operations Supervisor and/or Warehouse Lead
Job Description: The Warehouse Associate will perform a variety of routine shipping, receiving, production and housekeeping tasks. Shipping tasks include picking and/or packaging/shipping orders for specified carrier(s) as described. Receiving tasks include loading and unloading truck shipments and stocking the warehouse shelves. Production tasks include material handling, machine operation and labeling/packaging of product.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Shipping
- Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with the pick ticket and customer requirements
- Check inventory to verify availability of needed stock
- Notify the Supervisor of shortages
- Package and ship in accordance with packaging guidelines and accepted methods/practices
- Maintain product stock in work area
- Stock shelves in the warehouse
- Monitor packaging material supplies and notify the Supervisor when materials get to the restocking point
Receiving
- Take oral and written assignments from Manager and Area Supervisor
- Verify product numbers matching to order and deliver stock to and from packager’s workstations
- Restock the material when the Production floor has completed the work order
- Notify the Supervisor of problems with the work orders
- Schedules workload and ensures schedules and deadlines
- Must be able to train others to perform jobs that you are experienced with when required
- Requires continuous standing and walking
- Must be able to frequently perform repetitive motions.
- May need to operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment
- May frequently lift boxes up to 70 pounds plus
- Maintain a clean work environment to assure the safety of yourself and others
Order Packer/Picker
- Pick orders according to specific instructions and guidelines
- Pack orders within specific given guidelines
- May require driving forklifts or move materials using a pallet jack
- Ability to train others to perform jobs that you are already experienced at when required
- Maintain a clean work environment to assure the safety of yourself and others
- Take oral and written assignments from Manager and Area Supervisor
Competencies Required
- Effective communication/comprehension skills - verbal and written
- Must be able to work well with others as a team as well as work independently
- Must be able to comprehend and perform all work assignments accurately
- Math Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Basic computer skills
Education / Training / Experience Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years warehouse experience in receiving, production or shipping
- Forklift experience (if required) and the ability to complete in-house certifications
- Must have valid Driver’s License
Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Physical Requirements – ability to bend, twist, stoop, reach, climb ladders, lift materials up to 70 lbs., and move materials using a pallet jack
- Must be able to report to work during specified work hours
- Requires continuous standing and walking and may frequently perform repetitive motions
